Donald Vincent Pavelock Sr., 79, Beacon Native

BEACON, N.Y. -- Donald Vincent Pavelock Sr., a lifelong Beacon resident, died Sunday Nov. 13. He was 79.

Pavelock was born April 8, 1937, in Beacon, to the late Andrew and Mary (Burke) Pavelock. 

He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1954-56, and later owned and operated Pappy’s Luncheonette with his late wife in Beacon. He was a former fire commissioner of the Glenham Fire District, and former director of the Beacon Junior. Baseball league. He also drove a bus for the Wappinger’s Central School District, and was a life member of the Beacon Engine Fire Company, the Slater Chemical Fire Company, the Beacon Elks Lodge and the Beacon American Legion Post #203.

He was predeceased by Irene (Teed) Pavelock; and siblings, Mary DiGiovanni and Andrew Pavelock.

He is survived by his two sons; Donald Pavelock Jr. and his wife Angelica and Jimmie Pavelock; grandchildren, James Jr., Ashlee, Michael Sr. and Donald “D.J.” Pavelock III; and great-grandson, Michael Pavelock Jr. 

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the Robert H. Auchmoody Funeral Home, 1028 Main St., Fishkill. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Friday  at St. Joachim Church, 51 Leonard St., Beacon. Burial will follow in St. Joachim Cemetery.
