WEST POINT, N.Y. – Officials confirmed that a West Point cadet was among the nine killed when flooding hit Fort Hood in Texas last week, according to multiple reports.

The cadet was 21-year old Mitchell Alexander Winey from Indiana, News 12 said.

Winey was attending Fort Hood for cadet troop leader training when floodwaters swept away the vehicle he was in, reported News 12.
