With rain and strong wind gusts hitting the area, 214 of NYSEG’s 38,310 customers were reporting outages. Putnam Valley was hit the hardest, with 121 outages. Kent (87 outages) and Carmel (six) were also reporting outages.
There may be no relief in sight for the Hudson Valley, as thunderstorms are expected to persist throughout the week as the region braces for the effects of Hurricane Florence, which is expected to be a Category 4 storm when it touches down on the East Coast.
