PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Putnam County police cruiser was heavily damage following a high-speed chase of a speeding motorcyclists by a deputy sheriff, according to lohud.com.
Deputy Michael Sutherland, was not injured during the pursuit that took place around 1:15 p.m. on Sunday, May 29. According to police, the chase began after Sutherland tried to pull over the motorcyclist on Route 22 near 164, but the driver fled instead of stopping, said lohud.com.
The crash occurred on Route 22 just south of Route 312 when Sutherland lost control of the vehicle, slid off the road and hit a telephone pole. The motorcyclist has not been found, added Lohud.com.
