CARMEL, N.Y. -- Facing no opposition, incumbent members of the Carmel Town Board were easily re-elected on Tuesday, according to unofficial results from the Putnam County Board of Elections.
The results show that Supervisor Kenneth Schmitt received 2,672 votes, while Councilmen Jonathan Schneider and John Lupinacci got 2,603 and 2,588 votes, respectively.
Additionally, several other town officials won following re-election bids with no opponents.
Unofficial results show that Town Clerk Ann Spofford received 2,765 votes, while Receiver of Taxes Kathleen Kraus got 2,776.
Town Justice Thomas Jacobellis was re-elected with 2,793 votes, while Highway Superintendent Michael Simone was re-elected with 2,736, unofficial results show.
