There’s going to be dancing in the streets in Yorktown over the weekend, leading to road closures in the area as the community celebrates the 10th annual Chamber of Commerce Festival and Street Fair.
Yorktown Police Chief Robert Noble said that in an abundance of caution and to keep parade participants and spectators safe there will be road closures. From 7 a.m. too 6 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 7, Commerce Street will be closed between CVS Plaza and Hanover Street. Veterans Road will also be closed between Commerce Street and Maple Hill Street.
Noble said that there may also be temporary parking restrictions on Veterans Road, between Commerce Street and Maple Hill Street.
The 10th annual festival will kick off on Sunday with more than 250 vendors signed up to appear. The Chamber of Commerce said there will be children’s ride, live music, a food court, and car show, among other things. A dog costume parade and cupcake eating contest have also been scheduled.
