David Pinchbeck was arraigned on the charges Thursday morning and sent to Westchester County Jail on $5,000 bond or $2,000 cash bail.
Police Chief David Ryan said his officers had tried several times to arrest Pinchbeck at his Carmel home, but the suspect continued to avoid police. Pinchbeck’s lawyer finally made arrangements for him to turn himself in on Thursday.
Ryan said the stalking occurred over a two-year period.
“She was a hairstylist who worked for the suspect’s wife,” he said. “She also babysat for the family.”
Ryan said the woman later worked at a salon in Brewster, but said that Pinchbeck pursued her there.
“She told him to cease, but he continued,” Ryan said.
The woman eventually moved to Westchester County and Ryan said Lewisboro police confronted Pinchbeck on two occasions – January and May of 2012 – and asked him to leave the woman alone.
“She relocated and changed employment again,” Ryan said.
While employed in Pound Ridge, Ryan said, Pinchbeck continued to call and text and woman and showed up at her place of her employment.
“He would put flowers and other things on her car,” the police chief said.
The woman eventually had to change her phone number and email address, bought a new car and moved to Connecticut. She then filed the complaint with the Pound Ridge Police Department.
Ryan said the investigation into the case will continue.
“If more charges are necessary, we will file them,” he said. “We need to speak with more victims and witnesses.”
Ryan said an order of protection remains in effect for the woman and the witnesses in the case.
