Deputies responded to reports of a car crash at the Stewart's on 17M. An investigation revealed that Diana Velasquez, 56, of New Hampton, had been parked in a parking space near the building, put the vehicle in drive, and smashed through the side wall of the store, officials said.

Velasquez then backed up, placed vehicle in drive and smashed into the building a second time, causing significant damage to both the inside and outside of the store, deputies said.

Velasquez was arrested at the scene for Felony DWI, having had a previous conviction for DWI in 2014. She was remanded to Orange County Jail on $2,000 bail.

The Stewart's on 17M will be closed until it can be assessed by a structural engineer.
