Library Slates Nutrition Talk for New Mothers

POUND RIDGE, N.Y.  – The Pound Ridge Library’s New Mothers Group will host a discussion on "Nutrition for Mother and Baby" on Thursday, Jan. 26 from 11 a.m. to noon.

“A lot of libraries have new mothers groups,” said Library Director Marilyn Tinter. “They can come and listen to a speaker or presenters discuss issues for new mothers. We try to schedule programs where new mothers can socialize with other new moms, but also get some information that they will find helpful.”

Tinter said that in a town such as Pound Ridge, which is spread out and rural, new mothers can sometime feel isolated.

“In more populated areas you can just run next door,” she said. “But in a rural town it can be hard to get to know each other.”

The Nutrition for Mother and Baby get-together will feature nutritionist Dominick Lombardo of the Khader Group in Mount Kisco. Mothers-to-be are also encouraged to attend. Refreshments will be served.

Registration is required. Call the library at 914-764-5085.
