SOUTHEAST, N.Y. -- There is heavy police activity on Nichols Road near Route 121 in Southeast on Monday afternoon.

There have been reports of shots fired, roads have been blocked, a SWAT team is on the scene and residents have gotten the alert calls to stay inside.

The Putnam County Sheriff's office said specific information regarding the incident will be forthcoming.
