Located at 7927 Jericho Turnpike in Woodbury, Rustic Root offers a modest variety of American classics with extra attention paid to sourcing local and high-end ingredients. The restaurant’s Executive Chef, Thomas Gloster, has many years of industry experience and won the Chopped cooking competition on the Food Network in 2014.

On the menu, you’ll find several small bites and appetizers, salads loaded with fresh greens and house-made dressing, grass-fed burgers, roasted chicken and more.

Several seafood options are also available, including Icelandic cod with smoked cauliflower puree, roasted cauliflower, kale and bacon and pan-seared salmon with spaghetti squash, maitake mushrooms and brown butter almond puree.

RR serves rotating specials for appetizers, mains, sides and desserts as well. Current offerings include fig and prosciutto flatbread, meatloaf with lamb, pork and veal and salted pecan truffles with cocoa ice cream and a maple reduction.

It’s no surprise that Chef Gloster’s culinary creativity and prowess have earned the establishment a solid 4.5/5 stars on Yelp and 4.8/5 stars on Facebook. From the presentation of the food to the upscale atmosphere, guests can’t help but keep coming back for more.

“The food and service were so fantastic that I ate here twice in a three-day work trip. Loved the fig salad, cod, Brussels sprouts, and the mousse dessert! So happy to find this place. Love the decor and mellow atmosphere!” writes Dana G. in a Nov. 22 Yelp review.

Rustic Root is open for brunch, lunch and dinner throughout the week. For more information, visit the website.
