POUND RIDGE, N.Y. -- Happy birthday to Pound Ridge’s Ellen Barkin.
The American actress, best known for her roles in “The Big Easy” and “The Sea of Love,” turns 63.
Born in the Bronx, Barkin won an Emmy for her role in “Before Women Had Wings,” and a Tony for her part in “The Normal Heart.”
Barkin attended Manhattan’s High School of Performing Arts and then Hunter College, where she majored in history and drama.
She also attended the Actors Studio in New York City, struggling along for 10 years before she landed her first audition, according to Wikipedia.
Barkin has two children from her first marriage, to actor Gabriel Byrne. The two divorced in 1999.
Barkin then married billionaire businessman Ronald Perelman, but that union also broke up.
She also has dated director and writer Sam Levinson.
