Jack Fernandes, 45, was leaving the Monroe Police Department on Fan Hill Road when he slipped on a depression, fell forward and was stuck in the rain for 20 minutes awaiting an ambulance, according to the Connecticut Post. Solarize Fairfield Extends Local Solar Energy Program FAIRFIELD, Conn. --  A solar energy program for Fairfield residents continues through Oct. 31 with a workshop on Tuesday, Oct. 25. Solarize Fairfield is an extension to the town- and state-sponsored program, offering homeowners more time to assess solar energy.  The informational workshop runs 7-8:30 p.m. at the Fairfield Museum and History Center. Darien Artist's Work Featured At Nature Center DARIEN, Conn. -- The Darien Nature Center will mark the opening of a new exhibit showcasing the paintings of local artist Mary Morant with a reception on Oct. 6.The wine and cheese reception will be open to the public and last from 6-7:30 p.m.  The exhibit, entitled "Egrets, Oysters and Local Landscapes," will be on display until Nov. 3.  The artist is donating 30 percent of all sales back to the Darien Nature Center. The Darien Nature Center is located at 120 Brookside Road.
