Four Pace Baseball Players Selected As Summer League All-Stars

PLEASANTVILLE, NY – Four Pace University baseball players were selected to the all-star team in their summer league as they prepare for the 2016 season.

Senior pitchers Josh Garran, Dylan Mouzakes, and infielder Brett Bittiger along with junior outfielder John Kukura were honored with all-star team selections.

Garran, playing for the North Adams (Mass.) Steeple Cats, was named to the New England Collegiate Baseball League All-Star Team but the game was cancelled due to weather last week. He earned all-star honors after going 5-0 with a 2.23 ERA, while striking out 41 batters in 44 1/3 innings pitched. Garran is tied for the league lead in wins, while ranking third in strikeouts and 11th in ERA.

Mouzakes, playing for the Montauk (N.Y.) Mustangs, was selected to the Hamptons Collegiate Baseball League All-Star game and saw action for the South Team. This summer, Mouzakes is currently 3-3 with a 1.80 ERA, while recording 51 strikeouts in 45 innings pitched. 

Bittiger and Kukura, both playing in the Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League, will face each other on opposing teams on Thursday night. Bittiger was named to the Wolffe Division Team, while Kukura was selected to the Kaiser Division Team.

Bittiger is playing for the Allentown (Pa.) Railers, while Kukura is a member of the North Jersey Eagles. This summer, Bittiger is batting .279 with 19 hits, nine runs scored, two doubles and nine RBI as a shortshop. Kukura is batting .255 with 24 hits, nine runs scored, seven doubles, 11 RBI and 11 stolen bases as an outfielder.
