A 43-year-old man is facing assault charges after his involvement in a domestic incident in Northern Westchester, police say.
Yorktown Police responded to a local residence on the report of a physical domestic dispute on Thursday, March 21 around 4 p.m.
Further investigation revealed that the suspect, identified as Phillip Salamacha of Jefferson Valley, allegedly grabbed the victim by her hair and hit her in the face and head repeatedly, police said.
Salamacha was arrested at the scene and transported to Yorktown Police Department for processing. He was charged with third-degree attempted assault, a Class B misdemeanor.
Salamacha was served a Temporary Order of Protection and remanded to Westchester County Jail in lieu of $500 cash bail or $1,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on Tuesday, April 2.
