Brian R. Powers, 43, Former Pleasantville Resident

NEW MILFORD, Conn. - Brian R. Powers of New Milford died Monday, July 22. He was 43.

Powers was born July 25, 1969, in Mt. Kisco, N.Y., son of Annette McDougall Cameron of Falkirk, Scotland and William S. Powers. A resident of Pleasantville, N.Y., before moving to New Milford in 1993, he graduated from Pleasantville High School in 1988. He was a police dispatcher with the New Milford Police Department since 1998. He was a member of the Pleasantville Volunteer Ambulance Corp, Pleasantville Volunteer Fire Department, and the Chappaqua Volunteer Fire Department. He was a member of the Police Pipes & Drums of Waterbury, the Candlewood Lake Authority, and St. Peter's Masonic Lodge #21 of New Milford.

Powers is survived by his mother, Annette; brother, George W. Powers (Jeanine) of Southbury; a nephew and two nieces. He was predeceased by his father, William.

Calling hours are Sunday, July 28 from 4 to 8 p.m. with a service at 7 p.m. at the Lillis Funeral Home, 58 Bridge St., New Milford. A private family burial of cremains will take place at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Tarrytown, N.Y., at the convenience of the family.
