Briarcliff Man Charged in Pleasantville Stabbing

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – A 21-year-old Briarcliff Manor man turned himself into police on Wednesday in connection with a stabbing that took place on Pine Street in Pleasantville earlier in the day.

Police said Reza A. Daneshvar has been charged with first-degree assault for allegedly stabbing a 20-year-old Briarcliff Manor man around 2:20 a.m. Wednesday.

Police said the stabbing took place after the two acquaintances had a dispute. The Pleasantville Police Department received a call from the Briarcliff Manor Police Department about the 20-year-old victim, who was at Phelps Memorial Hospital.

Daneshvar turned himself in around 6 p.m. the same day after a preliminary investigation had identified Daneshvar, police said.

Daneshvar was arraigned and taken to the Westchester County Jail. His bail is set at $50,000. Police said officials are still investigating the matter. Daneshvar is due in court on Tuesday.
