Englund, a native of Pleasantville, turns 63 Wednesday.
Englund, a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist with The Washington Post, was born March 30, 1953. He earned degrees from Harvard College and Columbia University.
His first major journalism position was with The Sun in Baltimore, starting in 1977.
Englund won a Pulitzer Prize in 1998 for his investigative reporting on the ship-building industry.
He joined The Washington Post in 2010, at first working as a correspondent in Moscow.
Englund was most recently assistant foreign editor at The Washington Post.
