"This competition extends the college's opportunity to introduce local aspiring or new business people to the college's Gateway to Entrepreneurship program where training and networking can move them to the next stage," said program director Eridania Camacho Quinn.
The competition's winner will receive a price of up to $10,000 as well as admission into the WCC Gateway to Entrepreneurship spring program of workshops. The runner can also present their concept at the GROW Conference on April 29. Runners up will also receive invitations to the workshops.
“Our goal is to change the prospects for upward mobility, but nurturing innovation and great ideas also help shape our future, and that’s why this partnership with WCC and the local chambers is so important," said Derickson K. Lawrence, CEO of MarketView Resources. Lawrence initiated the team that launched the competition.
