Teacher From Westchester Dies At 43 After Cancer Battle: 'Truly Lived Life To Fullest'

A teacher from Northern Westchester who died after a brave battle with cancer is being remembered for his unique ability to connect with children and bring out the best in people.

Neal R. Saporta of Mount Kisco died on Sunday, May 14 at the age of 43 after a battle with cancer, according to his obituary. 

Born in 1980, Saporta graduated from Fox Lane High School in Bedford before beginning a career in education. 

This journey took him to the Chappaqua Children's Workshop, where he worked as a teacher and displayed a "wonderful knack of entertaining children," his obituary said.

Always living life to the fullest, Saporta enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, particularly his nephews, Luke and Trey as well as his niece, Naomi. 

According to his obituary, Saporta was also known for his "uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way." 

He is survived by his parents; his sister, Jenna; his newborn nephew; Nash Robert; and many cousins.

A celebration of life for Saporta will be scheduled at a later date.
