Cuomo Says There Is 'No Appetite' For Full-Time Legislature

ALBANY, N.Y. — Following the conviction of former Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver, Gov. Andrew Cuomo says that he won't focus on creating a full-time legislature but instead push for more transparency and disclosure, according to a report in Capital New York.

Cuomo said there is "no appetite" among lawmakers for becoming a full-time legislature, meaning that being state lawmakers would be their full-time job and no outside income would be allowed, Capital New York reported. 

The alternative, Capital New York reports, is requiring more transparency in the outside incomes of lawmakers.
