The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services issued an alert this week to Westchester residents regarding the residency of 52-year-old Raul Vilcapoma, who has moved from Valhalla to North Avenue in New Rochelle.

The Division of Criminal Justice Services has assigned Vilcapoma as a level two threat, which means he is at "moderate risk of a repeat offense."

According to the Division of Criminal Justice Services, Vilcapoma "immediately and physically overpowered" his teenage victim, having sexual intercourse and contact with her in February 2017. He was convicted of third-degree rape in July that year and sentenced to a term of 18 months in prison. Vilcapoma is now under the jurisdiction of the New Rochelle City Police Department.
