Pelham PD: Man Driving Without Driver's License

PELHAM, N.Y. – A Pelham police officer stopped a car at 5 p.m. Thursday for allegedly making an illegal right on red and it turned out the person driving the car did not have a driver’s license, police said.

The man turned right on red from westbound Lincoln Avenue to northbound First Avenue and onto the Hutchinson River Parkway, police said. The officer, who was on patrol, then stopped the gray 2002 Volkswagen Jetta at the ramp to the Hutch. At that point, the man told the officer he did not have a driver’s license, which a DMV check confirmed, police said.

The man was issued two tickets for making an illegal right turn and driving without a license.

The Pelham Police Department also reported:

Domestic dispute: The Pelham Police Department was called to a Cliff Avenue home because of a domestic incident at 11 p.m. Sunday. The woman who called police told the officers upon their arrival she and her husband had a “verbal dispute, which ended in both parties pushing each other,” police said. She wanted the incident on record, police said.

Noise complaint: A Fifth Avenue resident called the Pelham Police Department at 9:34 p.m. Sunday because a band was playing in a Fifth Avenue restaurant and they had left their front door open. Two officers responded to the scene and reported the condition was corrected, police said.

Trouble breathing: A woman was having trouble breathing at 6:51 p.m. Thursday prompting a call to the department. The Fifth Avenue resident had a panic attack, which developed into difficulty breathing, police said. She was transported to Sound Shore Medical Center for evaluation.
