Former anchor Gretchen Carlson has filed suit against her former boss, Fox News CEO and Garrison resident Roger Ailes, alleging sexual harassment.

The lawsuit was filed in Superior Court of New Jersey where Ailes also maintains a home and alleges that Ailes made sexually explicit comments to Carlson, including innuendos, remarks about her body and demands for sex to improve her job standing, Politico.com reported.

Ailes was the founding CEO of Fox News in 1996. He was also the a media consultant for Republican presidents Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan, and George H. W. Bush as well as Rudy Giuliani’s first mayoral campaign.

Carlson is a former Miss America who joined Fox in 2005. She was a co-host of the morning show "Fox & Friends" until 2013. The lawsuit also alleges Carlson was fired from her position on "Fox & Friends" because she complained about co-host Steve Doocy. She was also the host of "The Real Story with Gretchen Carlson" until her contract was terminated on June 23 this year, Politico.com said.

"As you may have heard, I am no longer with Fox News," Carlson wrote in post on Twitter late Wednesday morning. "I value your support and friendship, especially now, so please stay in touch with me."

.Ailes said Carlson’s accusations were "false," in a statement released late Wednesday, saying they were a "retaliatory" for "the network’s decision not to renew her contract.’’

“Ironically, Fox News provided her with more on-air opportunities over her 11-year tenure than any other employer in the industry, for which she thanked me in her recent book. This defamatory lawsuit is not only offensive, it is wholly without merit and will be defended vigorously.”
