Nearly 25 percent of single women would rather spend Valentine's Day with a dog than on a date with a man, according to a recent survey by National Today.

The holiday for lovers is apparently for all pets, the survey said, with 49 percent of the 1,000 respondents saying they make sure to give their pets a special Valentine's Day treat. 

For those that like the traditional human Valentine's Day date, the old dinner and a movie remained the most popular among those responding to the poll with 53 percent. A walk outdoors was second with 43 percent. 

Five percent of respondents said they'd be going on a Tinder date this year while 14 percent said they're single and loving it.
