Linder maintains that officials are granting permits without regard for business owners, and his store had to close when parking and the streets were shut down to allow for filming for the Bryan Cranston-produced Amazon TV series "Sneaky Pete," News 12 said.

The city clerk said the production business brought in close to $200,000 for Mount Vernon last year, reported News 12.

Mayor Richard Thomas expressed an interested in opening a professional film and television office inside City Hall to protect local merchants and taxpayers in the event of disruptive productions, News 12 said.
