Realistic Latimer, 25, of the City of Poughkeepsie, was arrested around 2:50 p.m., Tuesday, May 14, after police received several 911 calls about a disturbance on the sidewalk in front of 55 Washington St., which is directly across from police headquarters, said City of Poughkeepsie Police Lt. David Fernandez.

According to police, witnesses said that Latimer had confronted two children ages nine and 10 and threatened to "beat them up," Fernandez said.

When witnesses intervened, Latimer opened the door of her vehicle and told her two children inside “If you don’t beat them, I’ll beat you," police said.

Her two children, ages eight and nine, then allegedly exited the vehicle and proceeded to punch and kick the other two children until the victims were able to escape and run away, Fernandez said.

Latimer was arrested and charged with four counts of endangering the welfare of a child; criminal solicitation; conspiracy, and assault.

She was released on an appearance ticket to return to court Friday, May 17.
