The ceremony took place Saturday.

Vlad earned this from his many years of active participation in Troop 28 of the Boy Scouts, where he recently helped create a memorial for a 6-year-old girl who died of an accidental drug overdose in Croton last year.

In addition to his participation in the Boy Scouts, Vlad has been a member of the Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department since he turned 14, starting as a member of Explorer Post 2089, and now as an active firefighter alongside his father, Daniel Vlad, as well as his uncle, ex-Chief Bill Vlad, and cousins Lt. William Vlad and firefighter Taylor Vlad.

Vlad attends SUNY Albany and continues to be an active part of the CFD on his breaks from school.
