PEEKSKILL, N. Y. -- Water service has been restored in downtown Peekskill following a water main break and repair that became more complicated when crews hit a gas line while trying to fix water service near the North Division Street and Central Avenue intersection, according to News 12 Westchester.
Authorities said no flooding was reported, and there was no danger to the area from the gas line accident, but water was off to the area for at least 13 hours, News 12 Westchester reported
Officials said the cause of the water main break likely was caused by age, while the gas line was incorrectly marked, News 12 Westchester said.
