A 41-year-old man was arrested for allegedly stabbing a teen who drove away from the scene while wounded.
The incident took place around 7:41 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 14, when Town of Poughkeepsie Police responded to a reported stabbing on Vanderwater Avenue, Lt. Shannon Rodriguez said.
When officers arrived on the scene they learned the 19-year-old stabbing victim had driven away after being assaulted by Kevin Garret Sr., Rodriguez said.
Police located the vehicle being driven by the injured man and the victim was transported by Mobile Life Ambulance to Mid Hudson Regional Hospital, police said.
Through an investigation, police were able to identify and located Garret, who was charged with assault.
Garret is being held in the Dutchess County Jail without bail. He is scheduled to appear in court on Monday, Nov. 18.
