It's All About Color at Peekskill City Hall

PEEKSKILL – City Hall just became a lot more colorful, at least for a few weeks. Innovative Arts studios on Division Street has unveiled their “It’s All About Color” exhibit there, which will run from June 27 to August 5. The exhibit features works from area artists Daniel Intriligator, Adele Kamp, Jeorjia Shea, and Maureen Winzig. Each artist brings their own unique personality and perspective to the exhibit.

"We have been making art since the caves, yet we have only scratched the surface of what it can be,” Intriligator said. “A large component of my work is influenced by my experiences with time. Time is something that I utilize, yet struggle against, when painting.”

Each artist’s paintings also give insight into their personality. "For me, painting is a release and expression of the inner workings of my deepest self,” said Shea. “It's a way to portray confusion, fear, loneliness, humor and irony without words. It's also a process of discovery. I have always found myself creating human-like figures, often deformed, grotesque almost alien. Some might say this is my interpretation of humanity, or at least myself.”

All of the art works on display are for sale. Call Innovative Arts at (914) 930-1474 for further details. Peekskill City Hall is located at 840 Main Street.
