Officers with the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Department say Curtis Parks, of Wappingers Falls, was arrested on Tuesday, Oct. 22.

Police say an investigation by the Sheriff’s Office Detective Division and the Dutchess County Department of Community Investigations Division showed that Parks illegally obtained a total of $29,817 in daycare provider payments between October 2015 and May 2017.

The funds were illegally obtained due to the fact that Parks allegedly failed to disclose past arrests that would have made him ineligible to receive the payments, police say.

Parks was charged with third-degree grand larceny, a felony. He was released after arraignment at the City of Poughkeepsie Court and is scheduled to reappear on Monday, Nov. 25.
