PEEKSKILL, N.Y. - Lizina R. Brown, 81, of Mount Vernon, died March 24.
Brown was a parishioner at the Refuge Church of Christ in Peekskill, where her husband, Apostle Curtis Brown Jr., has been the pastor for many years.
She was born Feb. 26, 1931, in Mount Vernon to Henry and Anna Rose Hyman Rowson. On March 31, 1950, she married Curtis Brown Jr.
Brown was the proprietor of the Rehoboth Day Care Center in Mount Vernon. She was also a longtime member of Rehoboth Church of Christ in Mount Vernon.
She is survived by her husband, her sons, Curtis R. (Beverly) Brown and Hassan (Lenette) Harper, her daughters, Francene Forde, Regina (David) Robinson, Brenda (Gary) Battle and Jouli Brown, her sisters, Eleanor Smithwrick, Carol Wade and Sandra Lane, 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Her daughter Beverly Brown predeceased her.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Refuge Church of Christ, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Arrangements are under the direction of the E.O. Curry Funeral Home in Peekskill.
