Solarize Fairfield is an extension to the town- and state-sponsored program, offering homeowners more time to assess solar energy.

The informational workshop runs 7-8:30 p.m. at the Fairfield Museum and History Center. No preregistration is required.

The program is running in conjunction with the museum's “Rising Tides” exhibit, which examines the possible repercussions of climate change in Fairfield.

Solarize Fairfield is also offering free home solar evaluations on their website.

Since the start of 18-week Solarize Fairfield program in March, 336 Fairfield residents have expressed interest in exploring solar energy.

“I appreciate the efforts of the town’s volunteer Clean Energy Task Force, which is helping Fairfield continue to be an energy efficient community. I encourage residents to attend one of the workshops to learn how to use solar to take better control of energy costs and help safeguard our environment,” said First Selectman Mike Tetreau.
