And now the popular family-owned and operated Westchester eatery is bringing the party to Pawling in nearby Dutchess County.

Froggy's has been run by the Russo family (from Brewster) since 2011, and Tony, Bob, and John - along with mom, Lyn - set the bar high; they want their delis (the Somers location also features a pizzeria) to be the best around, and are willing to put in the work to make it happen.

And that's what they'll do in Pawling - Froggy's is aiming for an early April opening at it's Rt. 22 location.

"Our number 1 thing is speed and quality," Tony Russo explained to Daily Voice during a recent visit, as the family was busy getting the place ready to open. "When you come in here you won't wait long. And we have such a variety of sandwiches."

In fact, Froggy's has built its reputation largely on its collection of signature specialty sandwiches - which now includes over 50 choices - most of them involving a chicken cutlet.

Breakfast and lunch sandwiches and specials will rule the day in the new Pawling location - which has several tables set up for in-house dining - and the Russos are determined to make it as easy as possible for customers to order their regular favorites.

"Our priorities are speed, great sandwiches, and great breakfasts," Russo said. "People can text their order in and get it faster, or they can call it in.

"And they can request anything they want, and we'll put it together," Russo added of creating custom requests.

Much of the Froggy's success story revolves around the family's attention to detail and customer needs. "We're always trying to get better," Bob Russo said. "We make sure we stay consistent with food quality - breakfast, lunch... it's always consistent. And you can get breakfast all day long."

The Russos are thrilled to be bringing their Froggy's family to Pawling at 31 Rt. 22, right on the Putnam-Dutchess border.

"It's fantastic," Tony Russo said. "We're from the Brewster area originally, when we were kids we played Patterson Little League - so we have roots in the area. We're really looking forward to getting up here and getting things going."

"It's a big deal for us, and I've been amazed by the response we're getting from our customers, and how many people have reached out and are excited about us coming up here," Bob Russo added. "When we started, I never imagined that we'd grow to this level, we just keep growing. We're really looking forward to opening the doors."

Lyn Russo, who Bob says got him interested in cooking, will help with cooking and anywhere she can. "It's wonderful," she said. "I'm very proud of them. They are successful because they're all hard workers - that's the bottom line. The food is the top priority - it's always good food, and they're on top of everything."
