OSSINING, N.Y. Ossining High Schools baseball teams five game winning streak came to an end Wednesday in a pitchers' duel between the Pride's Rashawn Armstrong and White Plains High School's Chris Medeot.
Armstrong pitched a complete game, struck out 12 batters, walked four and gave up just two runs on two hits, but Ossinings bats could not produce and the Pride fell, 2-1, to the Tigers. Armstrong faced a similar situation on April 15 when he pitched eight innings and gave up only run but the Pride did not score once in a 1-0 loss to Scarsdale.
Medeot was equally brilliant on the hill for the Tigers as he also pitched a complete game. He struck out five batters, walked two and gave up just one run on four hits.
The Pride took the lead in the second inning Wednesday on a sacrifice fly from Greg Lamb, but that was the only run support Armstrong would receive. White Plains scored once in the top of the third and once in the fifth to earn the win.
