PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. Ossining High Schools baseball team squashed Pleasantvilles chance at revenge with four early runs and held off the Panthers for a 4-2 win on Friday. The Pride also defeated the Panthers, 6-4, on Tuesday.
The first three Ossining runs came on errors. Matt Belitz scored the first run for the Pride when he reached home plate on an error in the first inning. Zack Giusti and Aaron Freed each scored on errors in the second inning.
Greg Lamb scored the fourth and final run for Ossining when Jason Tierney grounded into a fielders choice.
Pleasantville scratched across two runs in the bottom of the fourth but never completed the rally.
Both pitchers threw complete games. Ossinings Mike Haag gave up two earned runs on seven hits and struck out eight, while Pleasantvilles Chris Leonard gave up four runs (one earned) on five hits and struck out seven.
