Ossining High School Student Receives Earth Day Award From County

OSSINING, N.Y. – An Ossining High School senior will receive an Earth Day Award from Westchester County officials on Saturday.

Aaron Maxwell, also an Intel Science Talent Search semi-finalist, will be honored at the county’s Earth Day celebration.

Maxwell’s environmental research project is about juvenile American eels in the Hudson River.

The project is titled, “Sediment Size and River Bottom Composition Affects the Settlement of Juvenile Anguilla rostrata in the Hudson River.”

The Earth Day celebration will be from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at Croton Point Park in Croton-On-Hudson.

The event will also include entertainment, exhibits related to the environment, a mobile document shredder, live music, raffles, a farmer's market, and children’s activities.
