OSSINING, N.Y. – Democrat William Hanauer easily beat challenger Linda Cabral Marrero Tuesday night to win his fourth term as mayor of the Village of Ossining.
With 52 percent of districts reporting, and Hanauer ahead by 74 percent to 26 percent, the Mayor declared victory.
"This is very exciting," Hanauer told more than 40 constituents gathered at the Ossining Portugese Club. "It shows there is confidence in Ossining in the leadership we have. "
Hanauer said he had not campaigned in the past week.
"Campaigning hasn't been on my mind, the storm has," Hanauer said. "That really is the only thing that is of any import right now."
The position pays about $12,000 a year.
