Suspect Busted By Police In Westchester With Items Stolen From Vehicles

Police worked quickly to bust a suspect who was caught red-handed rummaging through cars in Westchester.

Dispatchers at the Scarsdale Police Department received a call at approximately 7 a.m. on Wednesday, June 19, of a man in blue shorts and a dark jacket entering a vehicle and stealing property in the area of Dunham Road, Capt. Ed Murphy said.

Officers responded to the area and found a man, later identified as Bronx resident Stanley Dejesuscruz, 26, who matched the description. Murphy said that at the time he was interviewed by police, Dejesuscruz was found to be in possession of stolen items that had been taken from multiple cars in Scarsdale.

Dejesuscruz was arrested and charged with larceny and criminal mischief. Following his arraignment in Scarsdale Village Court, Dejesuscruz was remanded to the Westchester County Jail without bail. No return court date has been announced.
