OSSINING, N.Y. -- Mark Sadan, a 75-year-old Ossining resident was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated sexual assault on a minor by police in Vermont.
Sadan, a prominent artist, filmmaker and photographer in the village was arrested on Dec. 19 in the state of Florida. A warrant had been issued for Sadan's arrest in Vermont on Dec. 8 after being accused by Montpelier Police of sexually assaulting two minors over several years.
U.S. Marshals believe Sadan fled to Florida as a result of the arrest warrant. The Montpelier Police Department contacted U.S. Marshals seeking their assistance in locating Sadan and authorities were able to locate him according to the marshals.
Police in Vermont worked with police in Ossining and Carmel in an attempt to find Sadan, according to Montpelier police in the Barre Montpelier Times Argus. Police believe Sadan fled to Florida when they arrived in New York to investigate him.
Sadan was arrested without incident, marshals said. Sadan did not respond to a request for comment.
