Ossining's State Street Awaits Permission For 6-Acre Development

OSSINING, N.Y. – State Street in Ossining is making a comeback -- well, at least it should soon if the right permits come through, according to lohud.com.

A 6-acre property on the street is soon be a housing complex called the Hudson Steppe that will be home to 189 residential units, according to lohud.com, which reported that the historic Smith Robinson House will soon offer 7,500 square feet of new office space and a new parking garage will hold up to 231 parking spaces. 

Though the project has won approval from the village Board of Trustees and various land-use boards, the project awaits a building permit, according to lohud.com, which reported that the board has asked an outside company to evaluate the plan for asbestos removal.

Despite the delay, developers say they’re pleased with how the project is moving along, according to lohud.com.
