Man Charged With Burglarizing Westchester Health In Yorktown

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N. Y. -- A 66-year-old New Jersey man is facing felony burglary and criminal mischief charges after a police investigation connected him to forcefully entering Westchester Health in Yorktown and damaging an office inside, police said.

Steven Searcy of Union City, N. J., is being held without bail at the Westchester County Jail, police said. He's due back in Yorktown Justice Court at 6 p.m. Oct. 20, police said.

He's charged with third-degree burglary and third-degree criminal mischief.

Police said the investigation started with a phone call at about 7:30 a.m. Oct. 14 from the owner of Westchester Health, 322 Underhill Ave. She reported seeing damage to the front door, and open rear window, and damage to her office, police said.
