John Francis Bader, 87, Of Ossining, Worked For The Daily News

OSSINING, N.Y. - John Francis Bader of Ossining died Sept. 9. He was 87.

Bader was born July 7, 1926, in Staten Island, N.Y., to Joseph and Ellen Bader. He was a 40 year resident of Ossining. He served as a seabee in the United States Navy during World War II and worked at the Daily News for 41 years.

Bader is survived by his wife, Frances; daughter, Karen Fendrich; son-in-law, Craig Fendrich; two grandsons; and many godchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are Thursday, Sept. 12 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Waterbury & Kelly of Briarcliff, 1300 Pleasantville Road, Briarcliff Manor, N.Y. 10510, 914-941-1600. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 13 at St. Theresa Church in Briarcliff.
