Gerald 'Jerry' Sternbach, 81, Hasbrouck Heights Resident

HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, N.J. -- Gerald "Jerry" Sternbach, of Hasbrouck Heights, died on Tuesday, March 21. He was 81.

Born in New York City, Sternbach was a chiropractor in Hasbrouck Heights from 1958 to 1997, when he retired. He was an avid Giants, Yankees and Rangers fan.

"He inspired many, including myself, to pursue careers in healthcare or education," his cousin Michael Goldstein said in the funeral home condolences.

Sternbach is survived by his wife, Elsie (Ardito) Sternbach; children Leni Dillon and her husband Lance, and David Sternbach and his wife Jennifer; and grandchildren Grant, Hunter and Zachary.

He was preceded by his parents, David and Sonia Sternbach.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, March 24, at Costa Memorial Home, 170 Central Ave., in Hasbrouck Heights, with a funeral service at 7 p.m., with Rev. Hyoik Kim officiating. Private cremation will follow.
