Frederick R. Roberts II, 70, Lifelong Ossining Resident

OSSINING, N.Y. — Frederick R. Roberts II, a lifelong resident of Ossining, passed away Saturday, Oct. 22, 2016. He was 70.

Roberts was born May 14, 1946, in Ossining, the son of the late Frederick and Elberta (Bonin) Roberts. 

He graduate from Ossining High School in 1964 and of the RCA Institute in New York City. He was a retired electrical engineer with Union Carbide.He  was a member of the board of directors of the Ossining Historical Society and a board member of the Ossining Historical Review Commission. Along with all of his hobbies, he was known as a car enthusiast.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann (Vargo); two daughters, Kimberly (Nick) Schiavo and Sarah (Wil) Stephens; four grandchildren, Gianna and Nicholas Schiavo and A’Mya and Bre’Ona Stephens; dog, Derf; sister, Sandra Palladino; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visiting hours will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Dorsey Funeral Home, 14 Emwilton Place, Ossining. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Augustine’s Church, 381 N. Highland Ave., Ossining. Interment will be in Dale Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to a charity the family will be designating at a later date.
