OSSINING, N.Y. – The Village of Ossining will host a meeting Tuesday night on the redevelopment of Market Square and the downtown parking lots, according to a press release from the village government.
The consulting firm known as The Downtown Revitalization Group will give a presentation at the Village Board Work Session on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Joseph G. Caputo Community Center at 95 Broadway in Ossining. The Village invites the public to the meeting to hear the presentation.
The Village of Ossining wants to redevelop Market Square and the existing parking lots at the intersection of Main Street and Spring Street.
“This is in furtherance of the Village’s vision of a fully functioning symbiotic downtown economic environment,” the release says.
Currently, Market Square is used for farmer’s markets and other community events. The lots are used in conjunction with Market Square and also provide support for the post office and other commercial uses.
The Village of Ossining is interested in the redevelopment of these parcels for those uses currently provided by the Village zoning law,” according to the release.
The Village also wants to keep a public space in the area for community events and public assembly.
