At the gathering, the largest of young elected leaders in the country, Herrera will participate in issue-based training sessions and share best practices with more than 200 fellow progressive elected officials from across the nation.
Herrera, 25, was elected village of Ossining trustee in 2014 and then appointed Deputy Mayor in 2015 and has been a member of the Young Elected Officials Network since January 2015.
Herrera, the youngest elected official in Westchester County, will share his experience working for the Village of Ossining and Westchester County.
“This will be my first YEO conference; I look forward to meeting, collaborating and learning alongside with fellow young elected officials throughout the country. The Young Elected Officials Network is an invaluable asset for the newest generation of progressive leaders.” said Herrera.
The Young Elected Officials Network, a project of People For the American Way Foundation, is the first and only national initiative to provide a network of support to the newest generation of progressive leaders at every level of elected office.
