OSSINING, N.Y. -- Ossining resident Miriam Risko is one of Ossining Daily Voice's community advisors.
Community advisors provide the Daily Voice with tips for local news and events.
Risko is co-owner of Mike Risko Music School and Store in Ossining. Mike and Miriam Risko have been in business since 1995. Their business is proud to have achieved two Best of Westchester awards in addition to the Macaroni Kids Best Place for Music Lessons. They also are listed as one of the top 100 music dealers in the world by NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) and they were named Ambassadors of Ossining in 2014.
Risko is a member of the National Association Teachers of Singing and has been teaching voice and piano for the past 20 years and specializes in musical theater and contemporary music. In addition to her musical career, Miriam and Mike have two children in the Ossining School District.
Risko is involved with many organizations in Ossining and in the region. Risko is also lead singer of the Mike Risko band that performs throughout the area.
