House Destroyed By Fire Tops Ossining News This Week

OSSINING, N.Y. -- Here is the top news from Ossining this week:

  • Ossining firefighters battled through the day, but in the end were unable to save a home at 49 Hunter St. The fire occurred at 3:45 a.m. at the two-family home, though no one was inside at the time, Assistant Chief Matthew Scarduzio said.
  • New Castle Town Administrator Penny Paderewski, commenting on Facebook, said that she understood that Susan Feinberg, who had been reported missing, had been found dead Tuesday in New York City. She said that Feinberg's death was not due to foul play.
  • Meredith Vieira will help launch Ossining's Brient Center Fall Program.
